What can I do with chilli honey

Bought it by mistake and looking for suggestions.

All I can really think is to put it on salmon and chicken wings and bake it.

Would probably be quite nice with cheese and crackers

LakeWindermere · 24/12/2022 11:36

Drizzle it in pineapple and roast it. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

trickyex · 24/12/2022 11:36

Mix it with ginger, soy sauce and miso or mustard and use it as a glaze or marinade for salmon/chicken.

Nordix · 24/12/2022 11:37

I’d have it on toast.

Comedycook · 24/12/2022 11:38

I'd brush it onto pigs and blankets

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 24/12/2022 11:39

Amazing with halloumi!

Lollypop701 · 24/12/2022 11:41

Fry feta till golden and put some on

SnowAndIceLobelia · 24/12/2022 11:41

All FABULOUS ideas!

I was going to say chicken wings as well. But loving the various cheese ideas.

I really want some of this chilli honey now. Where is it from?

Cook carrots in chicken stock then put the carrots in the over with that drizzled all over it. Delicious.

Yep, was going to say this.

You could coat the chicken in flour egg and breadcrumbs, fry, then use the chilli honey as a glaze.

Mix a tablespoon of honey with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and a squeeze of fresh orange juice. Cut carrots into long battons and brush the mixture over them. Spread them out so they have plenty of room, ie not piled on top of each other and roast for about 45 mins at 200 degrees. Recoat by brushing with just the honey for the last 10 mins. May need a bit longer or shorter cooking time depending on how chunky you cut the carrots. I love them cooked this way. The chilli in the honey will just give them a bit of a kick.

Grill feta or soft goats cheese (or any cheese really) drizzle with the honey and toasted nuts….

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/12/2022 11:55

Fry some spring onions, sugar snaps, asparagus cut on the diagonal, strips of red pepper. Make a glaze/sauce from: a splash of soy sauce, a dollop of sweet chilli sauce, a bit of sesame oil and a spoon of the honey. We have this as a side to vegetable gyoza but would work with meat of some sort too, or as a simple veggie dish with rice - add cashews or tofu to bulk it out a bit.

Another vote for halloumi

Buy filo pastry, wrap pieces of cheese in the pastry, into little parcels, bake in the oven and then drizzle the honey over it during the very last bit of the cooking

Rainbowshit · 24/12/2022 12:53

Oh. I'm drooling now and excited about my mispurchase. I honestly had no idea it was a thing before this.

I did the same bought it by mistake. I use it on chicken tray bake dishes.
Lots of good ideas here for other uses.

Masterblasterjammin · 24/12/2022 19:16

It’s so good drizzled on a pepperoni pizza!

My husband would divorce me if I did that!

toss into roasted veg like parsnips
spread onto salmon fillets
use with steak in a taco

StealingYourWiFi · 24/12/2022 19:24

I love it on avocado toast

goingback · 24/12/2022 19:26

in a lemsip might help clear out the sinuses 😓

I don't think I'd want to spoil it with lemsip, but with fresh juice and a bit of whisky might make for a hot hot toddy which I'd imagine could be quite effective.
