Massive smoked gammon

Dsis just rang to say she has bought a smoked gammon on the bone for Christmas. She was planning to soak it and then pressure cook it in her instant pot. However, when she picked it up from the butcher it was much bigger than she realised and will neither fit in a receptacle for soaking or anything to boil it, instant pot or saucepan. She's worried it's going to be a) too salty b) to tough if she just roasts in the oven with a Bain marie.

Any thoughts or suggestions please?

Cut it up!

Soak it in the sink / bath/bucket, roast it cover in foil for about a quarter of its cooking time , pour away any juice that come out , give it a quick rinse and the findh off cooking , uncover for the last 20 mins or so.
If she thinks it's drying out she could pour some full fat coke over it a few times or , my preferred way coat the top in apples / apple sauce.
Pineapple also works

Thank you!

I think cutting up might be tricky with a bone in without a chainsaw?!?!

Can she go back to the butchers as soon as it opens and ask them to cut it up?
