Christmas lamb

Hi everyone.

So for Christmas we always have turkey and beef. This year my friend is visiting and has brought lamb, as she didn't want us to think she was entitled to our meat (I think maybe she just wanted lamb, as we are very close and wouldn't never feel 'entitled')

So, anyway, I have timing fine for beef and turkey during the day, is there a way I can cook the lamb Christmas eve night so it doesn't add to Christmas day's timings. My oven is small.

Thank you in advance.

Lamb in the slow cooker on low. Put it on the night b4. Onions, carrots..sit the meat on top. Galic, rosemary, jar of mint sauce, jar or redcurrant jelly. Then leave it. It will be amazing.

It will be fine cooked the previous day.we always make sure we buy a big enough joint for leftovers.it can last days.

Another vote for the slow cooker, I don't add anything to lamb, just put it in the pot, lid on and I would put it on high.

When I got my first SC 30+ years ago there was a warning about joints of meat.

The fat will melt and baste the lamb.

My slow cooked lamb is responsible for at least 3 slow cooker purchases.

In a similar situation I have cooked the lamb the day before, then sliced it and popped the slices into a foil container with a little light sauce / gravy. Perfect for heating up the day after and nice and tender.

Thank you everyone. I did think slow cooker, but wasn't sure if that would work for some reason. I'll get that prepped and ready for tomorrow.

Feels like a small weight lifted

Merry Christmas!

That is quite the imposition on you as a host! I would be very put out.
