Venison steaks

I thought I had a bag of venison cubes in the freezer which I was going to use to make a casserole. It turns out they are actually venison steaks - can't see how thin they are - so I assume they are intended to be pan fried. If I use them for the casserole anyway is that going to work? It will be pressure cooked, probably. I need it to be a casserole as it's a gift for someone currently reliant on a microwave so if it won't work I will need a plan B!

Casserole them. It's fine.

Ok, thanks. The other thought I had was chopping it up and making a chilli. Would that be a better option? It does mean I can't use the sad swede that has been looking at me from the vegetable rack for a while, though.

The only problem is venison is very lean so they could end up dry. I would make the chilli - sounds delicious!

Could you mash the swede and send that to be microwaved with another meal?

I can probably find a use for the swede. Good idea re: mashing it!
You think the chili would be a better option for the steaks? I'm leaning that way, I think. Will send a pack of microwave rice along too!
