I love onion but can't eat it due to ibs and gi issues.

I love love love stuffing. I usually buy it premixed. I need to avoid onion like the plaque and I will have to make a home made stuffing. Does anyone have any recipes for an onion free stuffing.

Thanks

Is it just onions or are all allium type things out, like garlic, leeks etc? Will have a look

How about sausage meat, breadcrumbs, sage, chives and maybe some chopped up dried apricots?

I'm still learning about my condition and what works for me and not. I am apprehensive about a lot of foods.

I love onion bit I can't eat onion. I can have onion powder. I am cooking Christmas Dinner for me and my mom and she can't have garlic. I am going to chance leeks.

I don't eat read meat anymore and so sausage is out. I am tempted to try it just to once. I am not a vegetarian. I eat white meat. Is sausage stuffing tasty?

Look up 'low fodmap stuffing' on google.

Becky Excell low fodmap stuffing balls recipe tastes almost the same as Paxo. If you're not gluten free then you can use any breadcrumbs (which will be much easier to find!).

You can get chicken sausages if you want sausage meat stuffing without red meat.

If you are talking Turkey, apple works very well with it. My stuffing is Arborio (risotto) rice parboiled with a bit of thyme, some finely chopped or grated Granny Smith apple, celery, chopped walnut, leek. Not dessert apples. Sometimes a bit of egg but not a whole egg. No amounts. Just what I think might work on the day.

I also use finely ground, browned pork but you say no meat. Shove it up the bird and cook. To continue the apple theme, I use cider in the gravy.

If you are game to tell us your condition, you may get more targeted advice.

What about parsley thyme & lemon stuffing? My mum uses stale bread, dried parsley, thyme, zest & juice of a lemon, suet & an egg, it tastes amazing when it is cooked, she usually stuffs the bird with it & the bird juices soak in as it is cooking.
