Pickled onion juice !

I have just finished a jar of pickled onions & was wondering if I could use the liquid to make some p.o myself ? I live in italy & can't buy pickling spices, malt vinegar etc......thanks !

I don’t see why not - give it a try with some sliced onions that will pickle quickly first?

you can also add to yoghurt for a lovely tangy salad dressing.

I've googled it, & yes. Lots of suggestions for other uses as well.

You could make a dirty martini with it instead of using brine from an olive jar. It might be horrible but it could be quite original

Try the Asian/Chinese stores for malt vinegar. They often have malt vinegar and certain other British ingredients that you can't get in the Italian shops.

I have reused pickle juice to do a set of carrot pickles.

But you can't keep doing it as the vinegar will get too diluted with the juices from the fresh vegetables.

I've been known to drink it 😬
