Doing my meal plan for the ten days over Christmas. Got Christmas Day and Boxing Day covered but lacking inspiration for the rest.

what’s on your festive meal plan?

Love a bit of meal planning!

To keep Christmas Eve relatively easy and free up time/space for Christmas Day prep, we are doing pulled pork in the slow cooker, with slaw and crisps on the side for the meal. Extras can then go in the freezer for meals in early January I don't have to think about, and its a meal we all enjoy.

Last year we did venison steaks on Christmas Eve which were really nice, but the extra planning/doing of a more 'formal' dinner was kind of a pain so I canned that for this year. Also, no one seemed to want the leftovers once we got through the main meal on the 25th, which made for waste.

We've done Brazilian fish stew (moqueca) on the Eve in the past, which is a nice twist on your normal fish stew, served over rice. BBC Good Food have a spiced salmon coulibac which looked nice (salmon and fish wrapped in pastry - can be premade) and I would have made this year if we hadn't decided on beef wellington. Anything spicy is a nice change to cut heavy meals!

HelloFresh have an amazing recipe for ‘Christmas burgers’! They’re my favourite, perfect for Christmas Eve as they make you feel all Christmassy. They also have different Christmas burger recipes, but these are the best imo.

Leftover vegetable soup
