Tried and tested breakfast bar recipes please

I've tried a few flapjack/breakfast bar recipes over the years and quite honestly, I never get it quite right. Most are a bit soggy. They're often bland or, go the other way and are insanely sweet.

Please can you hit me with your best options? We really need something any of us can grab to go on days when time is tight. We're not fussy - and generally have all the obvious ingredients in the house (oats, honey, syrup, dried fruit, nuts, butter etc).

We're looking for bars that are slightly crunchy/chewy and that are genuinely BARS, not sticky sludgy blobs.

These if the chocolate is ok? fromthelarder.co.uk/no-bake-salted-chocolate-energy-bars/

ive made Nigella muesli bars too but they get quite crunchy and oats scatter everywhere so a bit messy for on the go.

I'm not a massive fan of puffed rice - it always feels a bit pointless - but these look like a really good option so might give them a try. Thanks.

I agree and actually the puffed rice isn’t the crunch I’ve hoped for, I’ve subbed with cornflakes too and now I want to try activated buckwheat as that does have a lovely crunch.

But I should say I think they are an absolutely great healthy tasty on the go food in case that’s not clear 🤣

We’ve stuck with this one for a while now as it’s so easy and has just the right texture realfood.tesco.com/recipes/ultimate-healthy-flapjacks.html

I made these last week and they turned out great and even the kids liked them!

Somehow, this thread didn't reappear as being updated so I missed the updates. Thanks all. Some of these look great. I've done some that are a bit odd in that they include egg and you let them soak for a while but they were pretty good, albeit a bit more "cakey" than I expected. will try a few of these recipes too.
