I'm about to use my homemade mincemeat from 2 years ago, it's all tightly sealed and stored in a cool place.

I seem to remember someone clearing out their mother's house and finding homemade preserves from 20 years before, sent them to the Good Housekeeping institute and it being declared safe to eat, so knock yourself out!

We've got a 4 year old Christmas pudding to eat this year. Has a good feed of brandy and an occasional steam to make it nice and dark....plus I think we have 3 year old mincemeat in the cupboard
