Food processor, ninja or magi mix ?

My lovely old kitchen aid gave up the ghost and I replaced it with a smaller kitchen aid, it's useless. Have tried shredding cabbage and smushing biscuits and neither was a success. It's too small and too flimsy and the feeder tube is like a pencil.
I need to replace it but can't make another costly mistake
Looking at the magi mix 5200 xl or the larger ninja.
Any reviews of either ?
I don't use it that often but when I do I'm shredding lots of cabbage for coleslaw or a pack of digestives for crumbs so need a decent size bowl

If you’ve landed here looking for the latest advice from Mumsnetters, we’ve recently updated our best food processor page with the models that have been tried, tested and loved by MNers, including info on both Magimix and Ninja. We hope this helps.

Can't comment on the Ninja but I reckon I've had my Magimax 5200 for nearly 20 years and I'd replace it tomorrow if it died. It's a workhorse and handles large quantities of chopping and grating well and makes great pastry.

I used to have a magimix and used it daily.
Reader, it broke. Had 3 kids since then so money is a bit tighter.
Since then I've honestly managed just fine with a £5 handheld and back to basics approach, I've not really missed it tbh.

Magimix every time! There's no comparison really, have had mine over 10 years and it's a proper workhorse.

I've got a Magimix, the largest one, and it's brilliant. I've had it about 4 years, and use it loads. Before I got it we had an ancient basic food processor which I had before I met DH, so it must have been over 25 years old when it died.

I love my Thermomix. It's an older model (TM35) and I have no interest in upgrading to the newer ones with a screen and step by step instructions. Might be overkill if all you want to do is blend stuff but it makes light work of anything I've thrown in it.

I have a Ninja and love it BUT unfortunately, there's a known issue with the bowl design. Basically, the cogs joining it to the motor are too flimsy and can't cope with the power. They break after a while, and it's happened to many people. It's a shame bc I absolutely loved mine.
