Not actually a brag about how many hundreds of meals I can get from 1 chicken, but this worked really well for me so I thought I'd share.
Roast chicken yesterday, took all the meat I could off the carcass, then put everything left in the slowcooker with some water, left overnight on low. For lunch I then strained the stock out into a pan. I was planning to add some left over meat from the fridge, but there was actually lots of meat I'd missed on the carcass, which was now just falling off the bone. So I had a careful sort through and added the meat back to the stock, with some frozen peas, 5 spice, and a pack of instant noodles including the flavouring. It was absolutely lovely, and the meat was melt in the mouth soft. And I still have a bowl of chicken in the fridge for future meals.

Well nothing! Because I never buy a whole chicken, here only the breast gets eaten so I just buy a pack of chicken breasts and cook what's needed for the meal. If I have any left I marinate and cook for use in salads and sandwiches.

Yum

Whenever I have tried putting chicken on the bone in the slow cooker the bone just disintegrates and crumbles into everything making the whole dinner inedible.

I buy 6 carcasses for a £1 from my butcher and make Jewish penicillin.

Hubby and me can finish off a small chicken in one sitting! Carcasses are always put in freezer and always ask for carcass if we have had chicken at other family dinners. Once I have 6 or 7, I pop them into stockpot with veg, herbs and water, simmer for a couple of hours and voila, have loads of chicken stock.

Leftover option are:
Sandwhiches
Bubble and squeak
Chicken and ham and sweet corn in white sauce.
For us the dark meat is favoured so we always have the white(dryyyyy) parts left.
Never make stock.my gran used to though.
We now buy a whole chicken to have in the week too.a lunchable one.much cheaper than buying it as a sliced packed lunch packet.

@Georgyporky yes. Because I don't have room in my freezer to collect the weekly chicken carcass. I buy 6 a week plus the one left over from Sunday lunch and make soup once a week.

What a bargain!! I should check with my butcher. I raw feed my dog and he would happily eat half a carcass and I could also slow cook it for stock or bone broth

I also love chicken noodle soup. The other thing I use the stock for is Nigel Slater's creamy roast chicken risotto jonoandjules.com/2012/10/29/creamy-roast-chicken-risotto/
