ds is 10 months and is still not fussed about breakfast. he wakes at 6am, usually on the dot for his milk, which he usually has 5oz-6oz of, and then goes back to sleep till about 8ish. even then, its one and a half hours since his bottle, he still doesn't seem keen. i can usually manage to get him to have fruit and yoghurt, but thats about it.

I should have said, she eats one weetabix (and a half on a good day)

oh god...i must have a strange baby! she wakes about 8.30 and has a bottle. she just is not interested in breakfast at all and goes straight back to sleep. she then wakes around 11.00. she still has three meals a day and lots of snacks, she is actually quite a good eater now but refuses breakfast every time! have tried waking her up more in the morning but then she gets the grumps all day long. when she has her morning nap shes absolutely fine all day.

has bottle as soon as he gets up. Usually between 6-7.30. Then breky at 8.20/8.30am. Always has.

Mine is late to bed and late to rise, so brekkie isn't until about 10. And that's only half an hour after he gets up!

My ds wake's up at about 10.30 every morning and has one weetabix and a banana, he may sometime's get up at 8 o clock for milk, but he will go straight back to sleep after his milk and then wake up at 11ish.

He's just like his mother, love's his sleep.

GS wakes anytime between 7.45 and 9ish. Has been known to sleep until around 10. He has to be downstairs for around 1/2 hour before he will eat or drink anything - probably need time to wake up properly. Then has a large cup of milk to drink and either weetabix or porridge, sometimes followed by fruit.

How did that happen?

My ds (11 months) is like your dd night owl. He wakes any time between 7 and 9 for milk then goes straight back to sleep for anything between 1 and 1/2 hrs to 3hrs then has breakfast. Some days he doesn't have breakfast till 11. He won't eat straight away has to have a play and he normally has fruit and yoghurt. However the last few weeks he's not been interested in eating breakfast. All his other meals are fine. I did geta stressed about it at first but he's eating when he's hungary.

its nice to know there are some babies like mine. the child sleeps many more hours than i do! she doesnt generally have an afternoon nap, not for more than 1/2 hour anyway. when i was a teenager my mum tells me i once slept for about 18 hours and dd's dad was always a lazy begger too...so im going to blame him, why not, i do for everything else

dancer77 · 03/12/2004 10:16

my ds has an afternoon nap as well but generally it's only for about 1/2 hr. He is quite hard to get off to sleep. He doesn't want to miss anything and will sit up with his eyes closed till he physically can't any more! But once he's gone that's it there's no waking him.
