Light breakfast idea

I’ve just found out our guests next weekend are coming on Friday night rather than Saturday morning. I’m doing a roast late lunch Saturday, have some cheese for the evening and bacon sandwiches for Sunday morning. What is something relatively light and easy (i.e. not a full English) that I could do for breakfast on Saturday if we’re having a roast around 2pm/3pm?

(We’ll take them out or get a takeaway Friday night.)

What about eggs on toast? Scrambled, poached etc and maybe avocado / tomato?

As you’re cooking a roast - I’d do something easy for breakfast. I really like the frozen croissants/pastries you bake yourself, maybe those plus put fruit and yoghurt out?

Various fruits (a platter), posh yoghurt, honey, seeds, nuts, maybe little pancakes if you want / they have children (nutella on the side).

Leave a box of cereal and a loaf on the worktop and go back to bed (or is that just me?)

I'd go with bagel thins or whole bagels if you don't think their too heavy with a choice of scrambled egg or cream cheese both with or without smoked salmon. A bowl of fruit salad, Greek yoghurt, fresh juice and coffee.

Fruit salad, croissants and jams

Thanks for all the ideas. We're going to do crumpets with hot smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
