Can I reduce Christmas pud steaming time?

I've made the same recipe for years and steaming time is 7 hours.
It's been on 3 hours so far and I'm concerned about the amount of fuel I'm using. How long do others steam for?

Can't answer, but this is bumping the thread for you. After the "went mouldy" post I decided to go with the long steam I've always done.
The ingredients are quite expensive so I decided not to risk it, might be worth a couple of hours more this weekend?
