Ideas for pre Christmas works meal at home

We’ve decided to have our staff team round for dinner just before Christmas. There will be ten of us, some vegetarians, some omnivores and one vegan. Ideas for a menu? So far my ideas have been mezze type dishes or sharing platters but I won’t have time for too much prep.

If catering for a large number 'for dinner' I'm inclined to go for a roast (obvs with vegan alternative for your crowd) or a one pot - chilli or curry, so all prep can be done the day before and you can spend time with your guests on the evening.

Jewelled couscous with Moroccan lamb meatballs and falafel. I’ve used various recipes for the Moroccan meatballs and the best are sainsburys and BBC Good Food. The BBC ones freeze well. I served with grilled flatbreads and Moroccan lentils.

Fivemoreminutes - now that's a great idea! The only issue is that Ive never had success making falafel - they're always too dry and fall apart.

Kite22 - we will be having a roast earlier in the week, but curries might be good.

The lamb meatballs, couscous and falafel is a very good idea, you could do various dips & flatbread to start, or maybe a selection of little savoury pastries, there will be a good variety of them in the supermarket party foods.

For pudding you could do spiced orange salad, dates stuffed with nuts or marzipan, mango sorbet and some bought baklava.
