I'm after some inspiration - preferably naturally dairy free iykwim so I can do the same dish for everyone.

Baby squid stuffed with rice and chorizo, simmered in tomato/wine sauce. It's really easy, and useful to make ahead (rice goes in raw), then just cook really slowly for an hour or so before guests arrive. It'll hold for 30 or so.

Do you have a recipe for this? Sounds amazing!

Some more great suggestions - thank you

Baby capsicums or mushrooms stuffed with a spiced rice filling ( currants , herbs , nuts etc) Usually bake with cheese on top but could try lactose free? I'm not sure sorry. Otherwise , top with breadcrumbs mixed with olive oil or even pesto.

Would something like this work? I usually do it as part of a canapé selection, with smoked salmon blinis or crackers, prawn cocktail on lettuce leaves, & chicken strips marinated in mango chutney on sticks.

Thanks for the extra suggestions. CMPA is allergy to the protein in cow's milk, not lactose which is the sugar in milk. I buy vegan cheese for them.

The crab toasts look fab. I'd have to use flat leaf parsley as we've got someone who can't stand coriander in the family!

Thai basil and fresh ginger are a better swap than parsley for coriander.
