Prawn and asparagus

Fry half an onion and a clove of garlic in a good glug of olive oil and a little butter. Add a couple of rashers of streaky bacon and some chorizo and fry for a further 10 minutes. Make some pasta and two minutes before it's done add some shredded savoy cabbage. Drain the pasta and cabbage and add to the frying pan. Grate over a load of fresh parmesan. It's really nice but really calorific!!

Pasta, petit pois, butter and loads of grated cheese.

Chicken noodle soup

Make a basic white sauce. Poach fish pie mix in the sauce. Can add veg too. Cook pasta, I like spaghetti. Stir together. Grate cheese over the top.

Easy basic cheesy pasta with mixed dried herbs. If I have smoked bacon I whack that in, seriously good.

Fry up some veg like courgettes and peppers with a tomato pasta sauce and chilli flakes.

10 kilos of cheese. I love cheese 🧀

Real comfort food

The pasta I make depends what veg I have in the house.

Pasta alla norma (handy for using up aubergines)
Pasta alla sardine
Puttasesca
Carbonara (I add peas and/or mushrooms if I have them, and yes, I know this isn't traditional carbonara to add those)

Fry some onion, leeks and bacon in a pan until cooked. Garlic too if you like. Then add some cream, couple of tablespoons of milk and some cheddar and salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and mix. Add Parmesan if liked. Calorific horrific but delightful

On Friday evening I fried up plenty of garlic, in olive oil, some mushrooms, a few cherry tomatoes cut in half, fresh spinach and added in half a Boursin and a little of the pasta water. It really was delicious. Plus super quick.

I've also come down with something OP and fancy only pasta (it was toast, I've moved on!). I shall get some of the fish pie fish mix, that sounds perfect.

spaghetti carbonara is the food of the gods. So much salty goodness

I make exactly the same but omit the cabbage but use pepers instead .
It's very quick and easy to make and satisfying.

Anna Jones swede carbonara. Sounds awful but is so delicious.

Easy pasta bake with a sauce of bacon bits, leeks, philadelhphia and a bit of mustard. Mix with cooked penne, grate some parmesan and some breadcrumbs on top, grill. Yum.

Google Jamie Oliver’s Carbonara - there’s more than one but it’s the recipe with pancetta, podded peas, mint etc. Even DD13 will eat it ( although she does pick out the peas!) & she’s incredibly fussy.
Not sure if it’s the weather but I make a delicious salad with cold cooked penne or fusilli, apple, sweetcorn, tuna, mayo & loads of black salad.
DM used to make seafood lasagne. The recipe says prawns but she swapped them for tuna. It’s seriously good with a lovely crispy cheesy topping.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 23/10/2022 15:29

Black salad???!!! Black pepper 🤣🤣🤣

AtleastitsnotMonday · 23/10/2022 16:04

Finely diced red onion, nduja, garlic, fennel seeds, finely diced red pepper, chopped tomatoes, parsley, oregano, glug of balsamic vinegar. Serve over fresh spaghetti.
