Hi everyone I have mince that's been in the freezer since July? Is this is editable or would you throw it out?

I would use it

Creasedlinen · 17/10/2022 15:45

It will be perfectly safe to eat for years

Littlemissprosecco · 17/10/2022 15:45

It’s fine to use

dontknowwhatisbest · 17/10/2022 15:45

I'd be happy to eat it. It's only a few months.

HundredMilesAnHour · 17/10/2022 15:45

July THIS year?? It'll be fine.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 17/10/2022 15:45

good golly, I have meat in the freezer from at least 2 years ago. I wouldnt think twice about eating it.

AdoraBell · 17/10/2022 15:46

As long as the freezer is working and it’s been frozen rather than thawing when the door is left open it will be fine.

Colderthanever · 17/10/2022 15:48

It should be fine but is on the edge, roasts, joints and steaks etc can last up to 12 months but mince is really no more than 4. So I’d use it now.

I think it's more about it won't be as tasty as the ice will affect the texture over time, not about health and safety. My husbands a chef and never worried about something being in the freezer too long, he's my go to when thinking about eating out of date stuff
