I’m in search of an amazing brownie recipe. Something rich and decadent. Anyone got one?

The BBC Good Food brownie recipe has 2.5k five-star ratings. Whenever I make them, not a single brownie survives more than 12 hours in our house!

The bbc good food brownie I second. :)

They have some amazing recipes on there.

No link as it was from a newspaper over 15 years ago! But this is my all time favourite, very fudge-y and chocolatey.

INGREDIENTS
2oz cocoa powder
2 fl oz boiling water
3oz unsalted butter or margarine, melted
8oz caster sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
3oz plain flour
1/4tsp tsp baking powder
3 1/2 oz plain chocolate chunks

METHOD

  • Preheat oven to 180° C, 350°F. Gas Mark 4.
  • Grease a 20cm / 8 inch square cake tin.
  • Mix together the cocoa, boiling water and butter and stir well.
  • Add the sugar, egg and vanilla, then sieve in the plain flour and baking
powder, and mix well.
  • Stir in the chocolate chunks. The mixture will be fudge-like and shiny.
  • Spread it into the tin and bake for 25 - 30 mins. The top should be firm
and the cake set.
  • Cut into squares with a sharp knife whilst still warm and leave to cool in
the tin.

I keep coming back to this recipe, which is very simple and gives great results.
But I cut the sugar down by at least one-third - and I have a very sweet tooth!

So far I've only made the Rolo brownies, but they have become the stuff of legend in our family Grin They are ridiculously rich.
