Please share easy baking recipes that you would recommend - cakes, bread, savoury snacks.
I'm a beginner but want to get better.

This is the best chocolate cake I have ever made, and being prone to a baking fuck up or two, I have never messed this one up.

It is a very liquid cake mixture so you will need to use silicone cake tins, not the spring bottom ones as it will leak. But it is the most fudgey cake ever 😊

Also chocolate fudge cookies. So easy and really tasty. Sorry, I have a lot of recipes bookmarked on my phone. If I find a good recipe I need to keep it. And most of them are BBC Good food ones!

This is my daughter's favourite cake. I skip the part where you soak the raisins in whiskey as I never have whiskey in. And I tend to cool it for only 45 minutes. It's a bit difficult to cut into neat slices as the cake is quite soft, it would be easier to wait until its completely chilled but there is nothing better than a slice of this when it's fresh out the oven!

This is the best scone recipe I've ever found. The tips at the bottom are worth reading. I don't know about whipping these up for unexpected guests - I don't tend to have clotted cream in on the offchance of people turning up! - but they are actually pretty quick to bake. I add sultanas or raisins as we like fruit scones.

I can confirm that @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g's recipe for scones is the best you'll come across. I've been baking for about half a century 😮and all scone recipes failed until I found the one linked to.
