Meal ideas for friends over for dinner

Any ideas?

Lovely couple coming over for a Saturday night dinner. We've hosted a few times, as have they. Kids getting older now so their two teenagers aren't coming. Our 2 teenagers will want feeding but will probably bugger off after dessert to play minecraft.

I've used all my good recipes on our lovely friends, some more than once!

No red meat. I'd like something that looked nice, IYKWIM, but have done a good curry before. My go to is home made soft tortilla and lots of choice of fillings, but have definitely given this at least 2 if not 3 times!

Please throw ideas at me!

Nigella's Lasagne of Love?

Obviously with veggie / turkey mince instead of beef and pork.

I would pick a country/ cuisine as the theme eg. Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Indian etc.

Spinakopita is amazing, great centre piece. Done with patatas bravas and a big salad, perfect.

I love Roasted cherry tomato and goats cheese tarts.
You can make them all with different cheeses and place on a tray in the middle that way everyone has something they will eat.
Do new potatoes and salad, in bowls as well.
Then make a nice dessert.

We have friends coming over tomorrow.
Really casual meal.

I'm making tzatziki and pitta
Olives.
Greek salad (small portions)

Then main.
Chicken gyros.
Greek potato
Orzo.

And I cheated and bought baklava from lidl for after.

Vegetable tagine or Chicken tagine
Stuffed butternut
Savoury strudel

Pulled pork or chicken and bao buns with pickled vegetables and rice or fries?

Chicken liver pate - really easy to make with nice bread.

Steak and mushroom pie with veg - people don't seem to make many pies these days, extra points if you use suet pastry. Vegies.

Cheesecake with cream.
