my cheats version is this.

chuck 3/4 of a packet of sponge fingers on the bottom of a square or oblong serving dish.

Make a small cup of very very strong coffee and when it cools dribble over the biscuits, slosh on a bit of brandy.....you want the biscuits to absorb the liquid but not to be swimming in it.

gently beat a pot of mascarpone cheese with a small can of custard and slap this on the biscuit layer.

dust with cocoa powder and bung in fridge.

Serve it straight from the dish.

Doubt you could keep this for two days but as it's such an easy one I usually fling it together on the day.

sounds great dolally.
i just laboured through a tamasin day lewis recipe which was a lot more precious about it than yours although i suspect they will come out much the same!
will try yours next time.

I must be honest here, I usually put so much brandy in it that nobody notices whether it actually tastes like a tiramisu or not.

That sounds lovely and easy. My kind of pud.
