Cheating birthday cakes

Usually really enjoy making DC cakes but I've been ill all week so realistically won't have time.

I may be able to pimp a supermarket cake if anyone's got any easy hacks!??

Eg last year I bought a rainbow layer then did a skittles 'anti gravity' thing.

Or I'm a fan of piling treats / choc bars on boring choc cakes but just lacking inspiration!!

What clever but impressive hacks have you discovered???

I’m a fan of cutting a traybake into the number of their age. Buttercream and a selection of random crap thrown on top. Those traybakes are usually an all in one job. And the random crap doesn’t have to be sugary - berries, glitter and malteasers. Maybe some shaped sprinkles.

There is a cake decorator on TT that’s been doing this, they do amazing hacks. I will see if I can find them …
