Whenever I try to make home made chips or wedgies in the oven, they come out not as nice as the shop-bought ones. Does anyone have any tips??

For wedges, I microwave baking potatoes and cut them into wedges wearing an oven glove. Brush with oil and add seasoning if you wish, put in oven.

DH does slimming world chips, they are parboiled and then finished off in the oven.

Same as @NannyR - paprika is key too.

Yep, don't be to fussy about the shape!

I get mini rost / new/ salad potatoes... the key is they need to be small!

Cut them in 1/2 with skin on.
Cover generously in veggie oil and season, add smoked paprika, turmeric or nutmeg for a better taste.

25 minutes at 200°C in the oven should be fine.

I agree brief parboiling then olive oil, salt, pepper maybe some smoked paprika and a very hot oven on a baking paper lined tray.
