I have a can of jackfruit to use up.
What can I do with it it?
Must be vegetarian please.

Any links or suggestions of tried and tested good recipes appreciated.

I've made jackfruit chili using a recipe fairly similar to these:

www.bosh.tv/recipes/braised-jackfruit-chilli

www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/bean_chilli_with_43184

I used more veg and spices than the BBC version but more beans than the Bosh version. Smoky paprika or liquid smoke will give you the smoky flavour if you don't have anchos.

Remove any pips/seeds and add to a pot along with some soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, garlic granules and Chinese 5 spice. Keep stirring as it can stick to the pot. At the end once it's heated through add some honey or maple syrup. Add to bag buns (I get mine from marks and spencers) along with some chopped spring onion and I like to add a little siracha mayo drizzled over the top.

I had a jackfruit chilli pie recently. It was done well (but unfortunately was the dish that convinced me jackfruit isn't the food for me). I've also heard good things about the Dishoom jackfruit biriyani, but not tried it.
