Quince disaster, added sugar for jelly too early.

I was trying to make a jelly but didn’t read the recipe so added 1 kilo of sugar to the fruit and water when instead I was meant to boil the fruit and water alone then strain, measure liquid and add sugar later.

can anyone clever suggest what to do with the mixture I now have?! Should I see if it makes normal jam?
thank you so much if anyone can help my tired brain. Why I thought this was a good idea when busy Enough with a baby I don’t know...
