So I impulse-bought a red cabbage today, now what do I do with it?

We're having salmon steaks and I thought it might go, but never actually cooked one. Any ideas?

Just wanted to report back that the braised red cabbage was delicious, sort of sweet and tangy, and was very well received by DH (I told him to thank Mumsnet).

I made it with apples in the end as I had more of them, and without the sugar (it still came sweet) and the red wine as we were saving it for the weekend. I put an extra spoon or 2 of vinegar. Yum

Oh, and not at all farty.
