Anyone else making Christmas cake this weekend or already made one?

I usually go for Delia’s classic recipe, then a slog of brandy once a week up until Dec 😊

I was just thinking about this yesterday! Am planning to make it first week of half term. Am going to use Delia too.

I'm hosting Christmas this year and want to make the cake. Not done it before so going to follow Nigel Slater's recipe from his Christmas Chronicles book. Going shopping for ingredients tomorrow.

Do you marzipan and ice yours? When do you do that?

I traditionally do the Christmas cake the last weekend in September- to have sure it's after my son's birthday.

Always a traditional boiled fruit cake, usually with a candied nut topping put together a few days before Christmas

Yes I marzipan & ice mine @Zireael, usually marzipan about a week before Christmas, leave it for a couple of days then ice just before Christmas with a royal icing.
