I notice the thread for this was over a year old, so I have started a new one in case anyone is interested.

We love going to Bettys! We have eaten in the largest, the York one, Harrogate basement one (which was still lovely) and Ilkley several times. The rostis are amazing.

Ilkley is the nearest to us and sometimes, like today, we just go into the shop to take away fresh cream cakes, fat rascals, loaf cakes and fresh bread for us and our relatives. It is expensive but from every experience we have had it is well worth it as the food and experience are consistently of a high quality. I’m definitely going to book a Lady Bettys afternoon tea in Harrogate where the piano is!

Don't forget the Northallerton one on the High St.

Like you I've visited all the others - usually with my darling mum who is no longer here - and we had such lovely times!

Also Betty’s at Harlow Carr Gardens, Beckwithshaw, Harrogate.

They deliver by post!!!!! We get boxes for easter, our birthday cakes and Christmas.

Yes we’ll have to visit Northallerton. Also Harlow Carr. Ilkley is definitely our nearest. So lovely aren’t they? Just eaten my fresh raspberry macaroon. Got Lemon and Lime loaf cake too.

When revising for A levels back in the 80s we'd catch the bus to Ilkley and sit by the river with our books, with a slight detour to Betty's to pick up a curd tart on the way.

My Dad ( in his 80s) still sends a box of Betty's treats for Christmas every year.

I don't think I've been inside one for nearly 30 years though. Such memories! I shall add it to my list of things to do.

I often send Betty's by post for presents (moving in, congratulations, mother's day etc). The range that they deliver is impressively extensive and i've always been happy with it. We're nowhere near one so I can't really comment on the in-shop experience as I've only been once or twice in York where it was rammed.
