Is Goodfella's Pizza actually halal??

I'm not a Muslim but I only eat halal food (story for another time).

There's a halal butcher/shop near me I've started using and last time I went in I wanted pizza. The only one they did was a Goodfella's Pepperoni. I know some pepperoni products are halal due to the meat being made from turkey, but I wouldn't have thought a widespread brand like Goodfella's would do this. The staff member assured me it was halal despite not displaying the symbol. In the end I removed the pepperoni before cooking as I didn't entirely trust them.

Anyone know if these products are actually halal, and if not why would a specialised halal shop be selling it?

Turkey - still meat/poultry so would need to be certified halal.

Unless it’s got the halal label then I doubt it’s halal (but the company does do some halal pizzas).

E-mail the company?

I wonder why they didn’t label it though? I have some relatives who would take their word - but others who wouldn’t touch it with a bargepole.

Ask them, and they will tell you, I visited one restaurant in belgium he said we sale halal I asked why didnt you write it outside he said because people feel not comfortable as they dont understand halal so we avoid writing openly
