What to do with tin of prunes?

What can I do with a tin of prunes in prune juice? I don’t really like prunes by themselves (eg on cereal or in yoghurt, or just pieces of them in a muffin). Is there some kind of amazing bake that has them in, but so they aren’t really…prune-y? Maybe something involving chocolate?

Also wondered about putting them in a chicken or lamb or veg tagine?

You could save the tin for a bit longer and have duck with apples & prunes at Christmas. Or use it for Christmas pudding/cake.

Far Breton is very nice.

You could steep the prunes in alcohol and have it over ice cream.

Would also go very nicely with pork.

Have a google for chocolate brownies with prunes. I've had them before and they were quite nice (although I prefer ordinary brownies).

Gorgeous with pork tenderloin.

Save them in the cupboard for the next time you have a 'blockage'

Ohhhh @ThisIsNotAFlyingToy that’s going on my recipe list for November/December time!

Make some kind of almond and prune cake. It'll taste a bit like a bakewell type flavour. Probably I would drain out the liquid and then mash the prunes up (removing pits) and then fold into a standard muffin recipe with almond extract and some flaked almonds on top. Extra points if you find a muffin recipe with ground almonds in as it will add flavour and be really moist.

Delia's Christmas Chutney has got prunes in it. Delicious!

Oh I’m looking for a new chutney to try for Christmas! Must investigate...

Prunes and custard. Pudding of the gods.

Went with the Asda brownies with prunes recipe - very good and moist, went down well with the teenager friends who descended this afternoon. And 11yr old younger DD even volunteered to make them! @Fivemoreminutes1 had actually found that recipe on google before you posted - can recommend!

Got some left, so I think we’ll have the sausage & lentil Hugh F-W recipe linked to by @BadGranny later in the week - thanks!
