Can I mash my small turnip in with my carrots?

I really don't know what to do with it as I forgot to put it in my beef casserole yesterday. Doing Roast (free range ) Chicken today so where shall I put my turnip?
I am roasting potatoes and fennel too and have a cabbage as well.....

Probably, though I suspect the turnip might cook more quickly - maybe cut that into bigger chunks than the carrots (but I couldn't swear to that!). Butter and black pepper...
