Roast chicken..

I have a roast chicken tonight with some fresh baguette from the bakery. What would you serve with this that isn't salad? (I've had so much salad recently)

corn on the cob and coleslaw

Griddled courgettes or broccoli, with salt and lemon juice.

I sometimes do chicken stuffing and gravy baguette with mini roast potatoes. Maybe a little hot for that though.

Roasted med veg? Stir in some chopped mint and crumbled feta cheese for the last 10-15 minutes of the veg cooking really makes it taste great (if you cook the veg in with the chicken, then add the extras for another ten minutes after taking the chicken out to rest, the chicken juices mixed with the melting feta make an amazing sauce for dipping crusty bread in).

Chips.

I often do this as a chicken Caesar salad. Or basted with lots of lemon and herbs and buttery Jerry royals, lime and chilli butter corn too.

Do tomatoes count as salad? If not I'd go for big beef tomatoes, sliced with very fine slivers of red onion, basil, good balsamic vinegar, salt flakes and black pepper.

If it has to be hot, either vine cherry tomatoes roasted with garlic or green beans and tender stem broccoli, stir fried with garlic and finish with a squeeze of lemon juice.

roasted veg and mixed into couscous or a tin of chickpeas or beans. With a dressing or a splosh of pomegranate syrup.

Rainbow coleslaw with a lime and maple syrup dressing and some salted peanuts.

Being lazy I'd just buy a nice coleslaw and potato salad....
