Garlic bread

When you've done homemade garlic bread can you still see the bits of garlic on each slice?

I mean it tasted fine but I'm not sure I could cut the garlic any smaller without chopping my fingers off. I did the mincing thing where you hold the knife on top but the pieces were still visible.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Shop bought garlic bread I can never see visible garlic.

Shop bought will be made with garlic paste.you could use a mini food processor too but I think being able to see the garlic is better anyway.

I use a garlic press.

Do you not have a garlic press? I can’t imagine not having one, I use mine probably 3-4 a week.

I roast mine for ages first and then mix it into butter. Turns into near enough a paste

I've tried every gadget on the market, now I use a microplane grater

RewildingAmbridge · 04/08/2022 13:37

I make garlic butter, crush garliic using a press, mix with softened butter, salt, pepper and herbs (which ones depends what we're having it with) , score into a baguette/boule , fill the gaps with the butter, bake

BerthaBetty · 04/08/2022 14:25

Grate it.

I just chop mine but I don't recall ever noticing particular clumps of garlic. I do think its important to make sure you have enough butter and that it is in the oven long enough to all sort of smush together.

Thanks

I'll try grating and if no joy cough up for press

I use garlic paste, whenever I eat bread in the morning time. This is a nice thing, atleast weekly ones, I take garlic bread. Really good for the body health. Some time I chope it. But the taste is an amazing one.

I buy frozen cubes of ready prepared garlic. No faffing around with prep and far cheaper than fresh garlic. It's less than a pound for a big pack.

Don't use raw garlic. It's bitter and too strong. If you roast the heads whole and squeeze out the inside it'll be perfect.

SirenSays · 05/08/2022 12:51

No but then I chop it fine and then turn it into a paste with the side of a knife
