What's your favourite thing to barbecue?

We've just got a gas barbecue, really looking forward to trying it! What should we cook? Give me your best barbecue recipes! We're not really fish eaters, we'll try most other things though. And while we're at it, we have some venison steaks in the freezer, do they barbecue well?

For those of you saying to wrap stuff in foil and cook on the BBQ, does it taste any different to cooking in the oven under the grill?
Just curious.

Tenderstem broccoli (butter, lemon, salt and pepper, or olive oil, garlic and red chili)

Corn on the cob

Aubergine (whole, until it bursts)

Pineapple (long wedges on skewers, mix chopped fresh mint with sugar to sprinkle over/dip into)

Meat-wise, I don't think you can go wrong with a sausage in a bun. Boneless chicken thighs marinaded in barbecue sauce in rolls are good too.

I can attest that courgette works brilliantly. Pick fairly early, split down middle, oil and season and a few minutes on the BBQ. Delicious!

Courgette is lovely and once it's done you can put mozzarella on top to melt. Yum.
