Am recovering from a bug and have a very sore mouth (like ulcers). I really fancy something chocolatey but can't manage an actual chocolate bar.

So I want a chocolatey cake, but not a brownie type one. Something a bit more spongey, but still moist and squishy. I have actual chocolate chunks I can add in. I also have banana, avocado, apples, possibly ground almonds and satsumas if there's a weird healthy recipe you have.

I was thinking of a BLW muffin recipe I had which used avocados and courgette in because it really ticks the boxes for me but I have no courgettes and can't get any.

So - can anybody help me? It's the first thing I've felt like eating other than scrambled eggs for about 3 days!

I have exactly what you need - Ottolenghi's chocolate fudge cake. Halfway between a mousse and a cake! Absolutely delicious.

If you want to make it, have a look for any recipe for chocolate cake (or torte??) which requires ground almonds.

If you can get shop bought, get the M and S Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake.

It is EXACTLY what you're after ;)

Or this one, ignore the 'nest' decorations. I often make this and just pile fruit in the centre.

Tbh I often do basic chocolate sponge cake adding extra grated chocolate, then melted chocolate on top. Quick and effective!

This one. Ignore the icing though. Just mix 2parts dark choc with 1 part in grams of double cream and use that still slightly warm as icing in the middle and top.

I made this for a place I worked once. Met a colleague years later who couldn't remember my name, but remembered the 'most amazing chocolate cake'.

This is amazing - simple, deeply chocolately, and very moist. www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/double-chocolate-loaf-cake/amp
