Ice Cream

Does anyone have a good ice cream recipe please? I made one last year, maybe the year before, with condensed milk and cream which was lush but felt like it left a film over my teeth.

I jus tried a Greek yoghurt and fruit recipe, basically blend them together and freeze. It tasted nice but was ice crystally so a bit more like a sorbet.

I just want to be able to make a good ice cream when it's hot and be able to have the ingredients on hand so I can make it when I want, rather than have the temptation of ice cream in my freezer all the time 😁 Extra points if it's a healthy recipe!

This recipe makes an amazing ice cream if you are happy to cook a custard base. thetoughcookie.com/2015/06/26/vanilla-ice-cream-with-rhubarb-and-a-cookie-swirl/

If you don't have rhubarb, I'd either swirl in an alternative fruit or just leave it out. I used biscoff biscuits.

Thank you both. I'm trying to decide if I can be bothered to walk to the shop to buy the ingredients at the moment, but once I do, I will definitely try those two recipes 😊

I think this is the recipe I used the last time I made ice cream (quite a while ago). May be the one you mention in your OP. It was absolutely delicious and extremely easy, but I know what you mean about the film on the teeth.

I just Chuck a few frozen strawberries or raspberries in my mini food processor with some double cream and blitz it. Instant soft ice cream. I guess if you like things sweet you would need to add sugar or sweetener, but I like it as it is.
