What's for dinner?

It's hot, we've next to nothing in the house because we're going away tomorrow (so also need to avoid leftovers that can't be frozen, and preferably masses of washing up).

Could call into a small supermarket, or get a takeaway. I'm devoid of inspiration. Any suggestions? What are you having on this hot Sunday?

I'm having rice noodles with mango, prawns, chilli and some shredded green veg with a soy and lime dressing. It will be enough for tomorrow too.

Oh that sounds lovely. Just asked DH and he's of the opinion that Takeaway Pizza is the best way to avoid messing up the kitchen he's just cleaned...

It isn't too hot here so I'm doing a roast chicken 😋

I just ate a tin of sardines out of the tin, if this gives you the inspiration you seek.

Right up DH's street but not so much for me

DD made an impassioned request for lasagna so we're having that, I'm not looking forward to it, think I'd be happier just eating a bowl of ice followed by a double raspberry magnum and a huge glass of Diet Coke with many many ice cubes.

In your shoes I'd get aromatic crispy duck, spring rolls, ribs etc and have a Chinese picky meal. Sounds bliss to me!

Oooh I like that! We're taking the cat to the cattery a bit later when it's cooler and pass a good Chinese takeaway on the way back...

Tuna, sweetcorn, cold new potatoes, gherkins, cucumber, cheddar and sweet chilli sauce.

Pizza, topped with my favourite anchovies, black olives and capers.

Italian herb chicken, boiled potatoes, green beans and carrots.

Oh yum. PP has just reminded me I promised lasagne to the Dcs this week.

I am doing roast lamb with herbs and salads. But I am not going away tomorrow! (More is the pity).

We’re eschewing the summery salads etc because it’s our wedding anniversary and we always have one of our joint-favourite meals! We’re having homemade steak and onion pie with mash, our first picking of peas from the garden, carrots and onion gravy. I’ve made a cherry and custard tart and maple syrup ice cream for dessert 😊

Honey and garlic pork belly with rice and some (mostly cold) veg.

We go away on Friday so avoiding doing a shop this week other than a few fresh bits
So for the next 5 nights it will be a mixture of whatever is in freezer and using up the veg/salad stuff we have in.
Tonight will be pizza and salad.
Tomorrow cheese and brocolli pasta
Tuesday prob something and salad.... I have a roll.of pastry to.use so might make a.quiche.
Weds we have sausages in and I'll mash some leftover root veg and potatoes to go with them.
Thursday will be a case of see what's left to.use up in fridge and freezer, or might get a takeaway if there's nothing much left to use.

Bbq - char Sui pork fillet, pak choi and rice

Tomorrow I am going to the shop at dinner time and picking up a rotisserie chicken, coleslaw, baguette and salad.
