breadmaker, fast-action yeast or standard driec yeast

Just brought a breadmaker and am not entirely clear on whether to use fast action yeast or standard dried yeast, different recipes seem to be different?

I've had my Panasonic breadmaker for several years - I started off using the small cylindrical tins of Allinson's Easy Bake yeast (100g) - it's absolutely fine but it's expensive. I have been using Fermipan Red Instant Dried Yeast - I buy it as a 500g vacuum packed bag off ebay - far cheaper and TBH - I think it's better quality yeast.

I decant some of the yeast into an old Allinson's yeast tin and use that - I generally make one 50/50 wholemeal/white loaf (with a mix of sunflower seeds/pumpkin seeds and orange blossom honey) and one white ciabatta loaf every week - I put the bag of year into a sandwich box with a lid that seals and then put it in the freezer. It doesn't freeze into a block - you can open the freezer and get the sandwich box out and the yeast will pour freely from the bag - it lasts - god knows how long - months and months - 6-7-8-9 - not sure - I'd have to check my order dates to find out.

The ciabatta loaf makes great toast and I get through the white flour far faster than the wholemeal because the 50/50 is only half white flour and the ciabatta is 100% white flour.

I love my bread maker!

So - standard yeast - I've never used fast acting for bread - and it has to be bread yeast of course.

I've always bought fast acting as it was on the bread maker instructions, no idea whether the non FA stuff works as well.
