I took my kids strawberry picking this morning and they're now desperate to make Mary Berry's Wimbledon cake. I have all the ingredients except passionfruit. We live rurally and there's no way the corner shop will stock passionfruits and I really don't want to drive 30 minutes to the nearest supermarket for one piece of fruit

I'm guessing the passionfruit pulp is to help stick the two sponges together? Will it be ok without it or is there something I can use instead?

Mash some nectarines?

Clevs · 24/06/2022 14:17

Actually, I've just looked the recipe up and I'm sure it would be ok without.

Pinapple juice, mango, papaya.

It will be fine without.
You could use any yellow fruit (tinned peaches? Fresh aprcots??) or jam if you wanted to tho.
