anyone got a ratio for quadrupling a basic sponge chocolate i think

You're not going to do lots of layers?

I never do cakes by watching the clock, I just test for when they're done (toothpick comes out dry)

just do a chocolate madeira so you've got the standard ratio of 8 sr flour / 8 sugar / 8 butter / 4 eggs (and up or down it) .. adding 3 tbsp cocoa per 8 flour or thereabouts

oh you'd need vanilla and bicarb for a decent choc madeira IMHO
