Ideas for French dishes

My Dad is having a Sunday afternoon party next week with a french theme and has asked me to bring a dish or two. It can be sweet/ savoury/ include drinks but I'm drawing a real blank. I'll need to transport it there, and the set up will be everyone bring a dish or two and share.

Has anyone got any good ideas? I'm a reasonable but not brilliant cook. Every time I google I just get lots of french fries/ french toast recipes!

A savoury tart all the way- or galette- you can use leeks, onions, spinach and a French cheese, but there are loads of recipes for galette online. Easy to make in advance and serve. Shop bought pastry is more than fine as a base.

What sort of food? Hot/cold?

Pommes dauphinois
Bread and butter pudding made with croissants
Salad nicoise
Strawberry tarts with crème patisserie (keep elements separate til you arrive)
Champagne jelly
Poulet bonne femme
Garlic tart
Quiche Lorraine
Cheese board
Fennel au gratin

If you want to be lazy, you could do a box of macarons from Iceland and a selection of french cheeses with baguette.

Ratatouille is fairly easy.

Savoury tart sounds good. Have never made a quiche before as I always seem to mess up pastry, but shop bought could be a good plan.

Needs to be cold I think as will make the day before and not sure there will be much heating up space will everything else being cooked

@Honeyroar I'd never have thought that Iceland would have Macarons. Might look into that as an extra, but will definitely try to make something too

Is it a seated party or standing?

Quite casual, so out in the garden if nice - there will be tables and chairs but lots of people will stand and chat
