Kebabs…. Under the grill or griddle pan?

I’d like to make some skewered kebabs, we don’t have a bbq so can I just put them under my grill or would the cast iron griddle pan work better?

my grill does seem to be quite a high heat if that makes a difference.

also I’m going to do chicken, haloumi, peppers and onions. Any other tips greatfully received!

Id always opt for under a pre-heated grill, preferably about 10cm from the heat source.
If you’re using bamboo skewers, soak them for about 30 mins before using.

I like the stripes from the griddle pan, & I find it easier to keep an eye on them.
I use a pastry brush to coat them lightly with oil.

I prefer the griddle pan, too. I like the stripes and I feel like a chef ! (doesn't take much 🤣).

I do mine under the grill .
I agree with pp soak the bamboo ( wrap in very wet kitchen roll)

If uou are going to marinated the meat made the marinade, reserve some and use that to brush onto your meat just before the end of cooking that way you won't risk any blood in the marinade not been cooked

I’ve got metal skewers to use.
