Hi, I’m looking for a recipe to make a low protein AND low carb bread. Is it even possible?

Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Half a pound of butter.

But seriously - what are you wanting bread for? Most people use it as an easy source of complex carbohydrates with a bit of protein.

If you don't want carbohydrates or protein, don't eat bread. If you need a wrap use a lettuce leaf.

I’m asking for my friend’s husband. He has quite a rare kidney cancer and is running out of options.
The research they have done points to a low carb AND low protein diet. He just wants to be able to eat a sandwich or a piece of toast now and again

Short answer is no.
You can't make a bread without carbs or protein.
However, if you go ultra low carb on everything else for the day you could have a slice of real wholemeal toast and still stay within the low carb limits for the day. Depends how much of a treat he considers the bread.

A Low protein and low carb diet means getting most calories from fat, which must be pretty grim

Can he not see a NHS dietitian for advice?

If that's all the carbs he has, well that is low carb though personally I'd rather have cake
