Best mash for this fish dish

I’m making Lemmon pepper cod tomorrow (from an old Waitrose recipe card. Cod topped with tartare sauce followed by lemon and pepper breadcrumbs)
normally I’d do it with roasted baby new potatoes as per the recipe card but I’m in the mood for mash of some sort.

What would go well with the cod I’m wondering?

sweet potato mash?
olive mash?
garlic mash?
some other variant?
no mash and go back to the roasted new potatoes?

TIA

Ordinary mash with chopped fresh chives in it?

I'd be tempted to go for olive oil mash, or champ (mash with spring onions).

Just traditional mash mash with butter and milk?

I do a mix of sweet pot and ordinary pots mashed like normal with milk and butter. I don't completely mash the two together, so you get slightly different in each mouthful. Yum. Goes great with cod!

We had a cheese crumbed cod with colcannon last week, was lovely!

I'd stick with Jersey Royals as they are in season now, have mash later.

thanks for all your replies. When I went shopping, the baby jersey royals were on offer so I took it as a sign 😀
Mash potato another day.
