Coriander WTF is going on?

Over the last 4 weeks I have bought coriander in a pot from Asda, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Asda again. They have all wilted and died in 24 hours of getting them home. Watered some and not others. Never had a problem before. Is it just me?

@Wafflehouse

I saw something on tv about living herbs from supermarkets, can’t remember what it was on, but they said that they cram too many plants in one pot so if you buy these, when you get them home split them over 4 pots and they should keep going for longer. I haven’t actually tried it so can’t vouch for it.
This. I do it every year and one pot of coriander lasts until autumn if you look after it properly.

I'm having to buy some more thyme this year for the first time in years as that lasts really well outside usually but mine died last year.

This is true. They seed loads to get quick growth, it’s not meant to last long like garden centre plants.

However 24hrs is taking the piss.

I can't keep coriander no matter what, it goes all lank and yellow almost as soon as it leaves the supermarket!

I potted out some reduced flatleaf parsley last year and it's still going strong,....I was out in the garden tidying up the herb boxes and pots and I think it's only the rosemary and one of the sage plants that didn't make it through the winter!
I only use it in curry though, as a general rule I don't like it, but in Butter Chicken it's lovely.

Love coriander. Never been able to keep a shop bought plant alive and yielding.

I buy it in big bunches and keep in an airtight container in the fridge.

£1 for a bag of frozen coriander in iceland. I had the same issue with it constantly wilting and dying and this has been a lifesaver for me!

I could eat coriander on everything!!

I've noticed that a few of these living herbs don't last long anymore so I shall try the suggestions to split them and pot them on.

I have to agree that coriander is truly vile , though my family seem to like it.
I discovered, fairly recently, that something like 20% of the population thinks it's vile and tastes of soap... it's genetic , apparently.
