Dh bought it discounted on the use by date a few months ago and put it in the freezer. He defrosted it earlier and I really want a piece but it doesn't have the "suitable for home freezing" mention on it. Do you think it is safe to eat?

It will be fine. Freezing might spoil the texture but it won't be unsafe to eat.

Yes, of course it is.

The suitable for home freezing label is about maintaining quality when frozen. It has nothing to do with safety.

You can freeze anything, other than salad veg.

Get in there! I wish I had something like that to hand. Sad

Thank you! Am eating it right now :). The only way I thought could be unsafe is if it had been previously frozen and defrosted but I think in this case it says so on the label.

Just been for a run and now consuming more calories than I used up, oh well!

We portion their New York cheesecake and their Cherry and Almond tart and then freeze. No mention of freezing on the box. Just as delicious as fresh!
