i have discovered meat from the butchers is much nicer than that of the supermarket and want to know if any of you think the following food items taste better if bought somewhere other than the supermarket and if so where.

fruit/veg
meat
fish
eggs

so do the artisanally produced cheeses have special names? and can you get them in asda, tesco etc?

All cheeses have names. Parmesan (parmigiano-reggiano) is an artisanally-produced cheese, as is Saint-Félicien and Saint-Marcellin.

If you look at www.bongrain.com you'll see a whole lot of brands (eg names of cheeses) that are industrially produced.

I don't know about Asda or Tesco, but certainly some Waitrose's carry artisanally produced cheeses.

I think cheeses have feelings as well as names, I'm sure I shouldn't be laughing at this thread.

veg def better fresh out of garden (if you have time/space to do it) otherwise organic veg delivered for £8 once a week from local growers tastes much better.... maybe just because it is fresher.
