Thought id be lazy and buy one of those jars of Homepride pasta sauce. Not something I normally do but was stuck for ideas

HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!

Gross, vomit inducing the most disgusting thing we've ever tasted, ds wouldnt even entertain picking up his fork. dd refused to eat hers, even dh who would eat shit on a stick left most of it.

You want a happy ending ...... dh took us all to the chip shop as a treat so we didnt vomit and forgot all about the disgusting pasta sauce ...bleurgh

We tried one once. They're truly revolting, all gloopy and salty and tasteless all at once. Try roasting cherry toms, garlic and onion then mixing with creme fraiche for super fast sauce in future.

mosschops30 · 08/01/2008 19:37

Yes the salt content is probably my lifetimes intake allowance

I feel sick just posting about it

tomorrow is another day

Seeds of Change is the only pasta sauce I get.

onepieceoflollipop · 08/01/2008 21:44

I used to like them but have gone off them in direct correlation to the more "normal" food I have learned to cook.

I think all the flavours taste the same so don't try any more!

grannyslippers Loyd Grossman pasta sauces are ok (only the tomato based ones though) - but v expensive considering they are a posh version of a tin of tomatoes!

laura032004 · 08/01/2008 21:46

I likethe Loyd Grossman sauces too - I pick them up whenever they're offer. They make a quick and easy meal with a spinkling of cheese on top

Spidermama · 08/01/2008 21:48

I agree with granny. Seeds of Change is the only edible processed pasta sauce.

SorenLorensen · 08/01/2008 21:48

Nope, I'm sorry but the worst meal ever was cooked by my then boyfriend when we were students. It was curry. Made with two tins of sardines, a tub of curry powder, some water and some salad cream. Ye Gods.

And reader...I married him.

onepieceoflollipop · 08/01/2008 21:50

SorenL I might have married him if he had used mayonnaise...but salad cream?!

Cremolasnowdome · 08/01/2008 21:50

some of the offerings on masterchef tonight must be up there. what was that pureed potato about?

barbamama · 08/01/2008 21:50

No I did - it was foul, like all my cooking.

hoxtonchick · 08/01/2008 21:57

we have jars of sacla sauce in the cupboard for emergencies. the aubergine pesto one is ok. dp eats most of them...

colditz · 08/01/2008 21:59
