Mo Farah Air Fryer - Chip Tips?

Hello everyone,

This is potentially my most boring post yet, but I have this air fryer:

www.amazon.co.uk/Goodmans-Health-Fryer-Halogen-Cooker/dp/B08FV7JZHT?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

It was a present years ago and I'm ashamed to say I've used it maybe twice. I'm wanting to get back into using it more as my actual oven is so unpredictable but I don't know where to start!

I am hoping to make some homemade chips tonight (egg and chips - classic tea!). What's the best way to make these in my fryer?

Sorry if this seems like such a silly question, I don't often prepare food at home due to my diagnosed OCD causing issues with food hygiene and health anxiety. I'm working on it but my first step is nailing some good homemade chips Blush

Hi, my airfryer is one of the basket ones but this is how I do mine. I always soak the chips in water for a bit to remove all the starch, if I'm doing big chunky ones I'll sometimes parboil them. I'll then make sure they're nice and dry and toss in a bowl with some oil, a bit of vinegar and seasonings and cook on 180 turning now and again for about 20 minutes. I then do 5-10 minutes on the highest setting to crisp up. Someone told me the vinegar helps them get a nice colour.

Not quite as good as proper chip pan chips but they come out quite nice. I actually prefer to do big chunky wedges in mine.
